Flooring Estimates And Installs

What kind of flooring warranty do you offer?

Hilltop Pro Services offers up to a one (1) year warranty on installation and workmanship. Most competitors only cover one year or less.*

Also, most of our flooring products come with a factory-direct limited warranty. These guarantees will cover manufacturer defects and typically last for up to 10 years.

What makes us different?

To ensure that your factory warranty is never denied due to installation issues, Floor Coverings International will alwaysmeet or exceed the manufacturer’s installation quality standards.

Do you offer payment terms/opportunities?

Yes, we do.  Hilltop Pro Services offers financing options to fit every budget and credit situation. Along with the price of your flooring project we’ll provide you with payment terms/opportunities for each option we present to you.

How do I compare flooring estimates?

As you shop for new floors, you will probably have multiple project estimates to consider. Even if you choose not to work with us, we want to help make sure your project has the best results! Here are three ways you can compare estimates:

  1. The 10% Rule. If your lowest quote is more than 10% percent cheaper than the most expensive quote, they are probably cutting corners. There should rarely be more than a 10% difference between each quote.
  2. Installation Process. To protect your warranty, ask if your installer is following a manufacturer-approved method. This way, if you ever need to make a warranty claim, you won’t have a conflict.
  3. Online Reviews. Companies should always respond to feedback from customers online. If you notice an installer is ignoring negative feedback, they may not be the best fit. Ratings under four stars can also be a red flag.
What does an estimate include?

Our flooring project estimates include both material costs and installation costs. This way, we can ensure your quote includes a manufacturer-approved installation process which protects your warranty.

How long does a consultation take?

The entire process takes about 90 minutes and provides all the information you need to choose the best partner for your flooring installation project — from product selection to a timeline estimate.

Flooring product questions

Do your flooring products come with a manufacturer warranty?

Hilltop Pro Services offers up to a one (1) year warranty on installation and workmanship. Most competitors only cover one year or less.*

Also, most of our flooring products come with a factory-direct limited warranty. These guarantees will cover manufacturer defects and typically last for up to 10 years.

Which flooring material is the most durable?

Almost every flooring material has a high-quality version that can last a lifetime. Whether it’s tile, hardwood, or vinyl flooring, a Design Associate can help you find a product that matches both your design goals and your durability requirements.

However…

For commercial spaces, some durable floors may work better than others. For example, durable carpet squares or luxury vinyl tile may be “softer” than a stone floor, but they are easier to replace, repair or upgrade.

What is the best flooring brand?

There are many flooring brands to choose from on the market, but finding the best brand is all about choosing what features work best for your unique needs.

But, that’s not all…

If you already have a favorite brand in mind, we can place a special order for your installation project. We can order almost any flooring material directly from the manufacturer.

What type of flooring installation is the most pet-friendly?

Our signature design consultations streamline the flooring installation process in four simple steps. Here’s what you can expect when you schedule a free meeting with a design associate:

  1. Carpet Installation. Our selection of Anso High Performance Carpet with R2X Stain Resistance Technology prevents stains and is easy to clean.
  2. Bamboo Flooring. Bamboo is a highly durable type of hardwood that is also scratch resistant.
  3. Laminate Flooring. Laminate is scratch resistant and inexpensive to repair or replace.
  4. Tile Flooring. Tile floors prevent deep scratches from claws and are very easy to clean.
  5. Vinyl Flooring. Vinyl floors are easy to clean, tough on stains and have simple maintenance.

For even more options, be sure to ask your Design Associate about how to get pet-friendly floors for your home or office.

What furniture goes best with hardwood flooring?

The entire process takes about 90 minutes and provides all the information you need to choose the best partner for your flooring installation project — from product selection to a timeline estimate.

  1. Avoid wood-look furniture if possible
  2. If you do use wood-look furniture, make sure it matches your hardwood perfectly
  3. Use lighter colored furniture with dark hardwood floors and vice versa
  4. With lighter hardwood finishes, use furniture with interesting textures
What type of flooring options are water-proof??

There are many waterproof flooring options available from Floor Coverings International®.

Some flooring materials are naturally water resistant, such as luxury vinyl tile, vinyl flooring, ceramic tile, porcelain tile flooring and rubber flooring.

But that’s not all…

Additional water-resistant/repellant coatings may also be available for materials such as carpet and hardwood.

HILLTOP’S WARRANTEE

Top Notch Floor Installation and Warranty Guidelines.

Our flooring products come with 25 years structural and finish (Residential) Warranty 10 years light commercial finish Warranty. Installation of the product confirms your acceptance of the product. Failure to follow Pre- Installation and Installation guidelines will void the manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty does not cover damage by wheelchair, rolling desk chair, from improper use, care, maintenance, or installation, including scratching, water-leak, flood damage, denting, telegraphing, fading, staining, moisture and humidity issues.

MUST BE INSTALLED BY PROFESSIONAL INSTALLERS, otherwise your warranty will be void. All floor panels must be checked carefully for grade, color, finish, and material defects before and during installation. Products with visible defects must not be installed under any circumstances. The color and brightness resulting from adding flooring to an existing installation and/ or repair later are excluded from coverage.

This product warranty only applies to defects inherent in the product supplied. This means any manufacturing defects recognized by the manufacturer.

This includes delamination or reduced resistance of the protective coating layer but does not include the cut or modified floors and moldings. The manufacturer will replace the defective product at its option. If the complaint is substantiated, the replacement of the flooring is supplied by the distributor or retailer, with only new panels of the current product range at the time of the complaint. The liability under this warranty only applies to hidden defects not visible before or installation of the floor covering.

Installation must be done by professionals floor covering. Top Notch Floor can never be held responsible for any property damage and/ or secondary degradation.

The Top Notch Floor is waterproof but is not a moisture barrier. The product can withstand topical water and water penetration for up to16 hours without being damaged. However, water leaking over or around the outer edges of the flooring can damage a wood subfloor and breed mold/mildew growth on subfloor and walls. This is not considered a defect in the flooring. Open joints of 0.01inches (0.2mm) or less are not considered a defect under the joint integrity warranty. Joints compromised by improper installation, lack of continuous climate control, or obstructions creating pinch points are specifically excluded by this warranty.

JOBSITE & PRE-INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

All construction or renovation (paint, drywall, concrete, masonry, plumbing) must be complete and dry prior to the delivery of the Top-Notch Floor.

HVAC STANDS OR HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING

HVAC should be on, operational and maintained between 60 – 80 degrees with a relative humidity of 35%- 65% range a minimum of 48 hours prior to delivery, during and after installation of the flooring.

PREPARING AND LEVELING THE SUB-FLOOR

1. The subfloor needs to be structurally sound without deflection.
2. The sub-floor should be free of any surface defect. If it is not, fill gaps with a Portland based leveling cement.
3. For concrete floors sand/grind down any uneven areas.
4. For wood floors, use a wood leveling patch or skim coat as needed.
5. The sub-floor must be level and flat to1/4" per 10' radius and must not vary more than 1/16"per 3-foot straight line.
6. Any gaps in the sub-floor should not exceed 1/16".
7. Use flooring screws into floor joists if necessary to minimize squeaks in subfloor.
8. The surface must be clean and free of any contaminants such as wax, paint, grease, dust, oil, nails, staples, old adhesive, etc. and thoroughly swept and free of all debris.
9. For concrete installation, ensure that the concrete is not low-density (below 3000 psi) or gypsum based.
10. It is highly recommended to add a 6-mil plastic moisture barrier over a concrete subfloor to prevent future moisture issue from the slab. Even if the test results are within the
manufacturer's standards. Tests performed reveal the reading at the time of testing. It is impossible to predict what the humidity level will be in the weeks or months that follow. Even if you're using a 6-mil moisture barrier, and you have a serious moisture problem, it is possible that the pressure caused by the humidity pushes up the floor and make your floor buckle.

ACCEPTABLE INSTALLATION METHODS

Acceptable floor coverings include; Solid wood, linoleum{1 layer only), terrazzo, ceramic, and stone tile. Tiled floors with grout lines will require a cementitious leveling compound to fill any grout lines, voids, or cracks.

Unacceptable floor coverings include: Carpet (any type}, foam underlayment, cushioned-back vinyl, rubber, cork, laminates, free-floating floors, and wood floors over concrete.

Never trap a non-waterproof product between the concrete slab and the new Top Notch floor.

sunrooms/solariums, showers, saunas, seasonal porches, camping trailers, boats, RV’s or rooms that have a potential of flooding. Do not install in rooms or homes that are not temperature controlled.
